“I’m walking right in the middle of town, like you. I’m looking down, there’s a lobster.”
He then leans in to gently pat the creature before asking jokingly, “Hey buddy. How are you? Are you a little lost?”
Joining in the fun, the video caption reads: “The man accidentally found a lobster in the middle of downtown while on a walk. Who thinks he made a fancy meal of seafood with? “
The video sparked an equal mix of laughter and confusion online, within hours of its publication, many eager to know how the creature got there and what it is about.
One commentator said: “They are a companion of crayfish – find them in most bodies of water.”
Another said they often saw several similar creatures in Millhouses near the river.
One person also joked that the shellfish should be left on its own to finish shopping.
“Stop being so seashells,” they added.
