The Sports Club, Siuslaw News and Coast Radio Sports congratulate rookie Lady Viking Macali Lade as this week’s Athlete of the Week. Macali kicked off Conference Duals last week by beating Elmira wrestlers by pin in the 120-pound weight division before a grueling 4-3 victory over Cascade Cougar Krystaline Kamstra, earning him a first place.
Honorable mention goes to another Siuslaw wrestler, Hayden Muller senior, Hayden was able to pin two opponents in last Wednesday’s conference doubles in the 135-pound weight class
Mapleton Sailors Basketball
The Mapleton Sailors were on the court last night against Siletz Valley, the Boys were beaten 58-26, the Sailor Ladies came through 41-8 led by Helen Burruss with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 6 steals.
The Mapleton Sailors will be on KCST tonight as they host Mohawk. The pregame will begin at 5:15 p.m. with the girls first. Bob Sneddon and Randy Paredes will call the game.
Basketball Siuslaw
The Siuslaw Vikings will be on the field tonight to welcome Elmira to Glen Butler Court. boys are first at 5:45 a.m. and girls follow at 7:15 a.m.
Siuslaw’s Wrestling
Conference doubles are scheduled for wrestling today. The Vikings will travel to Philomath and face Sweet Home, Newport and Philomath.
