The b/w map details below are credited to Philip Durell, 1745 in my opinion they would certainly have been used by Monamy for his painting

 | |  The above fortification, presumably housing a battery of 20 cannon in front of the outward-facing gate to Louisbourg town, does not seem to feature in Monamy's painting, or in the larger plan of the harbour.
According to Bowen's plan, the above building housed a battery of 40 cannon. |
