Méduse is the French word for jellyfish, as well as Medusa. Strange to say, the name "L'Anse aux Meadows" originates from the name used by French migratory fishermen, who named a certain place "L'Anse aux Méduses", ie "Jellyfish Bay". This place sent out its call to Leif Eriksson, 1000 years ago. Hit his trail, here.
